With an area nine times bigger than Barcelona (or almost twice the size of the microstate Andorra), Berlin needs correspondingly a huge network of public transportation – U-Bahn, S-Bahn, buses and streetcars. I offer important information about it all in this chapter of my Berlin Journal.
Here I explain the meaning of U-Bahn and S-Bahn, which is fundamental to know for tourists who do not speak German. Berlin visitors should be ready for these terms even before landing at the Berlin-Brandenburg Airport (BER).
Besides, the reader finds in Berlin Journal information about several bike-rent points in different districts; the city is quite well adapted for bikers – nevertheless: keep an eye on the traffic!
And, last but not least, I recommend a few restaurants (the chapter includes a small dictionary). There is also a calendar of activities which includes the most popular events in the city, that attract locals and tourists year after year.
